Marvel vs Capcom 4: Ultimate Showdown is the next entry of the illustrious Marvel vs Capcom arcade series this new sequel of the series reunites all previous characters from the past 3 Marvel vs Capcom games and introduces several new characters from both the Marvel Comics & Capcom universes into the new game. Among several new moves/combos a large new improvement is the addition of several new variations of Marvel characters from the new interconnected films and the "Ultimate" universe.
Also as well the introduction of elements and characters from various capcom films (mainly the Resident Evil series.) in all there are nearly over 100 characters from both fictional universes included in most versions of the game (the most characters from any MvC game). Also the most playable characters then in are in any other Capcom game ever.
While MvC 4 is a continuation of the previous plots of the past 3 games it however interconnects with the basic fighting tournament storyline of most Capcom fighting games. However the only main story difference/deviation is the partial inclusion of elements from feature films such as the Iron Man series, Incredible Hulk, X-Men films..Etc.
Several new stages have been added to MvC4 including several new story based "levels" where playable characters must fight or move their way through in order to reach the next main stage/arena creating a more fluid "Advancing game experience". Many of these new levels/stages will be placed within certain scenes of various marvel and capcom live action films the main critical difference is that now characters from both universes will be able to freely interact and mix within the scene stages. Below is a working list.
Marvel Stages Edit
- Stark Expo (Iron Man 2)
- Weapon X Project Lab (X:Men Origins, Wolverine)
- New York (X-Men, Spider Man)
Capcom Stages Edit
- Shadoloo (Street Fighter)
- Racoon City (Resident Evil films)
- Year 20XX (Mega Man, Bionic Commando, Strider Hyiru)
